I like the Idea of encluding the date.  One word of advice: Don't go mucking around trying to make that very nice tool have every feature every developer wants.  You have provided some wonderful open-source code that others can use as a starting point to modify for any special needs that their work-flow might demand.  Quick edits to that code are not beyond the capabilities of those who see its worth!  

Some days I just love how those extensions to LabVIEW are made possible!  NI could not release a tool like that untill it was "Bullet-proof" all things for all developers.  The community can release code that is useful to a large number of developers but less than %100. See Here as an example of a great idea that just cannot be implemented but, can be very useful in some limited cases!

Again, I like that code!

We have a suite that produces THIS.

Please note I wrote that app in LV 6 so keep that in mind before you judge the quality of my code (smiley-wink).

VIPM was installed long back,my anti virus was causing some trouble.Turned it OFF,now All Iz Well.
