RealTime, scan engine synchronization EtherCAT clock

For the use of a variator that generates his own clock and distributes it on EtherCAT, I need to make the RT loop synchronous with clock posted on EtherCAT by the variator.

So would require the scan engine parameter is in receipt of the EtherCAT clock.

This function is imperative on Labview-RT to be compatible with ability to manage EtherCAT variators ( Beckhoff).

You can already add 3rd party hardware as EtherCAT slaves, where cRIO is the master. To clarify, you're looking to synchronize LabVIEW RT loops (or the entire scan engine) to a clock generated by a 3rd Party EtherCAT device, where that device is the master?

Hi speineer,

You are correct that Real-Time code is not synchronized to the EtherCAT Distributed Clock, so we cannot synchronize the Real-Time code with the Variator clock.

We are aware of this gap and your feedback is appreciated. Do you have an example of a variator from Beckhoff which could benefit from this functionality?
