Quick Drop Shortcut Next to Name in Function Pallet

Status: New

I have been pretty slow to pick up the addition of quick drop functionality. This is mainly due to the list of shortcuts being out of the way.

I have always thought it would be easier to get the hang of Quick Drop if I had the option to put the quick drop shortcut in parenthesis next to the object name in the function pallet.  That way when I go back through the "normal" way of programming I will see the shortcut each time and over time I could get the hang of each objects shortcut.

It would be great if it is available in the Context Help.

Wiebe, that is a completely different idea.  The idea you linked to is to have the Context Help update as you select things in the QuickDrop.  What Its_Me_Ashiq is suggesting to list the QuickDrop shortcuts in the Context Help.

My point is, when the cursor is on any object, if it has a QD Shortcut link, then it should appear in Context Help. If not, don't care.

All available (user configured) QD shortcuts for the G-Objects,

This is what Wiebe meant to link to 🙂

Although it's marked as completed but not implemented the way that the idea suggested.

This Idea quick drop shortcut context help was implemented in LabVIEW NXG as below,

NXG Quick Drop Search WindowNXG Quick Drop Search Window

It shows the QD shortcut for the listed objects.

In LabVIEW, it is like showing the available Shortcuts for the listed objects for the search in QD,

ActaulActaulExpectedExpected

But in LabVIEW, this is also not implemented!

But what we actually expect is, even without QD is open, if we hover over any object, Context Help updates its contents, in addition to that - if QD shortcut is available for that object, show them too.

I agree need a way to make the shortcuts more visible/accessible.

How about here? Its more like the NXG solution. Its where i need to see it when I pick a function from the palette.
