cannot input in Labview

until yesterday the program was fine, but nothing changed and I can not interact with Labview (version 8). Ctrl-E would not switch to diagram, string ctrl or number ctrl would not take anything. I move my mouse onto the ctrl and click, the screen just blink once, and would not allow me to do any change.

 

The only thing still works is button and if number ctrl has small arrow aside, I can change number by clicking arrow.

 

What a strange problem, I already reinstall Labview once, and I still have the same problem. Anyone know what is going on?

Could the keyboard be the problem?  The only thing that seems to work is the mouse.

all other programs are fine, only labview not working. And even when I click inside string input, the cursor will not stay, it just blink once, then like nothing happen

Hi DGU,

 

So, just to confirm, this is LabVIEW 8.0?

 

Does this happen with just one VI you've been working on or does it also happen with a blank VI? Can you change to the block diagram with Window>>Show Block Diagram on the top menus?

I have Labview 8.0, 7.1 and 7.0 installed on my pc previously. I tried all three version with blank vi, and they all have the same problem. I can not change to block diagram with top menus because I click on top menu, the menu just blink once, then disappear. The only things works is the ctrl button and small arrow besides number ctrl

 

I uninstalled all 3 version together with all the drivers (total 188 items) yesterday before I left work, and reinstalled Labview 8 this morning, it still has the same problem. 

 

I am giving up on this, unless you have some solution.

Has anything else changed on the PC? Perhaps a video card driver update or a Windows update? Was anything else installed/uninstalled, hardware or software?

Yes! My old video card failed on my, so I have our IT group put a new one in. And this problem happened right after that.

I do not know the video card can affect Labview... everything else seems to be fine.

Any solution?

It could definitely be a video driver related issue. Please ensure you have the most up to date drivers for your card.

I am 100% sure it is the latest driver. I saw the IT support downloaded it fresh from video card company web site.
