Does someone know how do I find this component in labview, Generate Waveform VI ? In my tutorial it is said that I may find it in functions>>tutorial. But where is this?
While that is the location of the standard set of functions, it sounds like whatever tutorial you are running had as part of its setup to create an additional item in the functions palette. Specifically, a "Tutorial" subpallette. Thus, the standard set of waveform generations VI may or may not be applicable to your tutorial. What tutorial are you running?
In older versions of LabVIEW (i.e. 7.x or older), there was a VI called Generate Waveform in the Activity folder. I don't recall there being a palette being called Tutorial however and it's certainly not there in my 7.1 installation.
Yes. Well known, and also quite ancient. That tutorial was written for a much older version of LabVIEW. 1996.That's LabVIEW 4.1. Waaaaaay outdated. While a lot of the stuff still applies, there have been a ton of changes since then. You should probably look over the material in the NI Developer Zone's Learning Center which provides links to other materials and other tutorials that are more current. You can also take the online courses for free.
It might have been a well-know tutorial 13 years ago but is now very obsolete. That was probably written for LabVIEW version 5.something. You really need to get something contemporary. There are some free on-line classes that are current, there is the "Getting Sarted with LabVIEW" document that ships with current versions, the training classes, books, and numerous other ways to learn. That tutorial is so old that you would have to find something current anyway. There have been so many changes since then that I don't how the old one would be worth it.
