LabVIEW at 20!

Since you use a diagram constant of 000107, I assume that this number is always exactly the same. Is it???

Attached are two possibilities (LabVIEW 7.0).  There are many other ways to do this...

Mod1 is more similar to your attempt, it just replaces all undesired elements with nothing. First we remove ALL "\r\n000107", then all spaces, then all "\r\n". Notice that you need to wire a TRUE to the "replace all?" terminal, or it will only replace the fist instance of the search term.

Mod2 is one alternative approach.

Try to understand both examples. 😉

Waow.... A LabVIEW 1 copy !!! 吃惊表情

What for ? Just for the fun of having it ? You ll need on old MacIntosch to run it... I ll talk to my people to see if they can get that antiquity from the museum...

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.

I have LV 1.2 saved as OS X disk images. If that is of interest, let me know.

NI had version 1.0 running on a Mac SE at NIWeek. They had a competition to see who could put together a simple VI most quickly. I tried but at least one other person was faster than I was.

Just received the new issue of the Instrumentation Newsletter. There's a neat little image of a block diagram on the cover showing a bit of code from 1986 LabVIEW feeding another bit of code representing 2006 LabVIEW.

I'll take the 1986 any day. That's LabVIEW!  The 2006 version is "programming by dialog box".
I must confess I've tried a few of these Express thingys, but quickly adbandoned them.

BUT..... they do have a very important use. A lot of them can be "viewed as an" icon and then converted so the block diagram can be opened. You can then study the code and learn a few tricks.

If you look closely at the code illustrated on the cover of "Instrumentaion Newsletter" (third qtr 2006) that can be found here

http://www.ni.com/news/inst_news_q3_06.htm

you will see an inverter on the lower input of the add node. See this inamge.

In what version did we loose this feature?

Ben

PS I know I can do that with the compound arith...

Hi All,

I the first labview I used was LabVIEW 3 (1996) but first app was done in LV4. But I think the best upgrade was when undo was added LV 5 first time if I remember correctly God Sent.
