No advanced tab in NI MAX RS-485 port

I installed the NI-Serial Driver, Win XP Service Pack = 2.  Still no luck... no advanced option for NI RS-485 port.  Help, I need the advanced options to set "Transceiver Mode".

Thanks

Dirtnap,

To be able to see these advanced functions you will need to install the NI-VISA Driver. Please reference the following KnowledgeBase article: Setting the Transceiver Wire Mode on Ports for National Instruments Serial Boards for more information.

Hope this is able to help. Have a great day.

Hi Sarah,

My PC has card: PCI8331/8336 and the NI PXI-1036 has the following cards installed:

PXI-8331(MXI-4)

PXI-4110

PXI-6221

PXI-2575

PXI-8423

I am having problems with the PXI 8423.  As seen in my previous reply, I do not have access to MAX RS485 advanced tab needed to set to "Transceiver Mode".

Regards,

Scott

Scott,

An alternate way is to set this option in Device Manager. If you right click on the NI PXI-8423/2 Port, you are able to move the proper tab. I have attached a picture of the exact place to look.

Please let me know if you were able to find this on your system.

Hi Sarah,

Sorry about the wild goose (or turkey Smiley Wink...) chase.  I re-seated the 8331 card in my PC... Problem solved.

Happy Holiday,

This card is an older model and has been aroud the office for years.

all 4 ports behave the same.

To configure the settings in MAX, you will need to run MAX as Administrator. Just right-click on its icon and select "Run as Administrator."
