Unsupported Module with new NI-9232 and chassis cDAQ-9188

I've been using cDAQ-9188 + NI-9232 with screw terminal for years.

Now I bought a new NI-9232 with the new SNAP-IN terminal.

But when I plug it into my cDAQ-9188 chassis, MAX gives me Unsupported Module.

Mod2 is an old screw-terminal module.

How can I have the new NI-9232 working?

Most likely you would need a newer version of NI-DAQmx driver.

Modules with different connectors are added in different version of DAQmx driver. Reference: NI 9230 and NI 9232 Show Up as Unsupported in MAX

To know what's the exact version, I suggest you reach out to NI Technical Support.

Hi @ZYOng,

thank you very much.

I think that you're right and probabli NI has not updated yet the tech documentation for "snap-in" variant of these new cDAQ devices.

How can  I reach NI tech support for hardware that I bought?

If I click on the "support" section, I see a messag saying that my account doesn't have an active service.

I had in the past (for NI software), but now I buy and use only NI hardware (no more software).

I've never understood what is the NI tech support for hardware.

I upgraded the drivers to NI-DAQmx 2025.Q3 and now MAX sees the device as a NI-9232.

I've noticed that calibration info is shown as N/A

Old NI-9232 with screw terminal show their calibration data.

Is this a bug in MAX software?

And, again: what is the NI policy on their direct support for hardware devices?

It could be a bug. I can see the data from NI Instrument Certificate Generator.

I will suggest you reach out to NI Technical Support.

In order to access the technical support, you would need the Standard Service Program (SSP). By default, a 1-year SSP is included with software purchase but not hardware purchase.

See Hardware Service Programs
