string indicator scroll to bottom

Solved!
Go to solution
Hello.  How can I make the string indicator scroll to the bottom of the page using the block diagram?  I have a while loop that process data, each time it finishes an iteration it will dump all the results into the string indicator.  And I would to make it so that it automatically scroll to the bottom of the page at all time. thanks

If you right click on your string indicator,

go to Create >> Property Node >> Text >> Scroll Position

If your text is updating in a loop, wire it to the number of iterations (see attached)

**Note, you dont have to wire it to iterations. You can wire it to any large number, i just happened to pick iterations.
There is probably a better number to wire it to, but any large number will work (even the timer in my example)

Connect a very very big number to the scroll position property of your control, it will automaticaly scroll them to the last row.

Property>text>scroll

And if you wire a -1 to it the scroll always goes to the bottom line (like Cory said a -1 is a large # when coerced to unsigned in fact it is THE largest #)

You can also use a feedback node.  I'm not sure what the purpose of using the property node is, seems like more work when you can just concat a CR/LF to the string.

Mo- we were talking about setting the position where the vertical scroll on the FP object is - not what data is in the text

I see.  With your further explanation and re-reading the prior posts, it makes sense.  I misunderstood what the OP was after.

Wiring the infinit symbol to the scrollpos will make sure it is always at the bottom 🙂
