This is a 6 1/2 year old thread.  And, although it may work, it seams rather strange to use string length to find a value larger than the vertical height of the string.

 True, it dawned on me later that it's kind of the same as using just large number. If, however, the string indicator only displays one character per line, won't this method be "correct"?
