naming wires

Hi!

I have a stupid question, which i dont seem to find an answer to.

How can i put a label to my wires?

On Labview coursepapers they show >wire name> above the wires, but cant seem to find anything how to label them.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

On the diagram
    1. press "shift" and right-clic at the same time, the tool palette will appear,
    2. select "text tool" (as shown on the picture)
    3. then place your text over a wire, clic and type..

you can't set a proper name for a wire like you do for a control or indicator...

Hope this helps 😉

Yeh.

This i allready knew, but thought there would be some "smarter" way for naming the wires.

Second to novels by Greg McKaskle and similar, I think I learn most from trying to find exceptions to "you can't" replies by some our top contributors. Smiley Wink

Right click on the wire and choose Description and tips to associate text with a wire.

The text is only visable in the help window (ctrl-h) with the wiring tool selected.

Technically, I believe TiTou is correct. I only went poking around when I recalled I had posted a product suggestion that would aide in scripting in the event it ever gets released in a supported form.

Smiley Surprised

Thanks for the trick ben 😉

And you are right, I definitely have to teach myself not to say "you can't do this"  Smiley Sad

I'm working on it..

Hi TiTou,

This is just TOO appropriate not to mention.
