Firewire Camera Not Found

Hi everyone,

I aked some days ago for the way of controlling a Marlin Firewire 046C camera from LAbVIEW. After installing IMAQ for 1394 cameras I'm still having problems.

I have installed IMAQ for 1394 Cameras v2.0, but I can't use the camera from LabVIEW or Vision assistant because it don't appears.
The camera works fine with the software the vendor provides, but when i try to find the camera in "Measurement & Automation >> Devices And Interfaces" only appears and empty "PXI System", and "Ports" with COM1 and 2, and LPT1 inside.

I don't know where I must locate and configurate the camera in order to access from LabVIEW.

I can add the VIs of 1394 cameras software package to my labVIEW application, so I think the library is installed correctly and the problem is in configuring or adding the camera to LabVIEW resources in any way.

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!!

You need to use the IMAQ1394 driver for that camera.  Read this article
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3506
It explains how to install the IMAQ1394 driver for the camera.

Hi again,

I have read that and checked that my camera is supported.

MAX still don't shows any IEEE 1394 device folder. I have checked that windows devide manager don't shows any imaging device too, and tried to manual installing the camera driver but windows only shows the firewire controller.

The camera software works rigth and i can use the camera from it, but LabVIEW don't sees any camera.

I'm very confused because don't know how to solve this.

Now my camera works rigth from LabVIEW.

I uninstalled the vendor's software and installed the NI IEEE 1394 drivers as the link before tells (from device manager). After that, WinXP recognized my camera and MAX shows the Firewire devices folder.

All rigth now!! Thanks a lot!! Smiley Wink
