I would say that's progress (you should always be able to connect to localhost:3580/3582).

This points back to the initial permissions error though, if you manually browse to that file does it exist?

If so is it set to read only? Is the folder set to read only?

All files in the directory were set to r/w permissions.

However, the folder was set to read only!

D'oh!

After changing the permissions on the folder I've successfully compiled.
