Report Generation VIs

Hi, can anyone help.

I'm trying to generate a report with my data in. The report generation vis are located on my computer in National Instruments>>LabVIEW6>>VIlib>>Utility>>NIReport. However, many of the files e.g. 'Set Report Orientation.vi' are non-executable because they contain for example broken wires (terminals of different types are connected) or invalid property nodes. Is this normal? Apart from going through each VI in turn correcting the faults is there anything I can do?

Some of the report generation VIs require that you have MS Excel or MS Word installed on your PC. IF they are not, then the Active X property and method calls will not compile and you will get broken wires.
