Report Generation Toolkit Installation

Hello!

I need to install the Report Generation Toolkit, but only using Excel 2007.

Is this possible?  Or will we need to install a full Office suite?  Is there a way to workaround full install?

We'll only be using Excel anyway...

Hi Oley Mich,

as far as i know it should be no problem. You can install the Report Generation Toolkit without any Office Tool, but you can´t use the Excel or Word part without installing the corresponding Office Tool.

Hello Oley,

I just started using this toolkit myself.  Looking at the code for the Sample Report in Excel, I don't see why you would need to have Word, Outlook, or any of the other MS Office software other than Excel.

Hi Oley,

now i´m sure. You don´t need the Office Tools on your pc if you don´t use the Office functions. Here is the link to the user guide:

Hmmmm....

When I try to install the Toolkit from the Toolkit disc sent to me by NI, the installation tells me that "Microsoft Office version 2000 or higher was not detected on the system.  You need to install Microsoft Office 2000 or higher before you install the NI Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office 1.1.2"

Installation halts there...

Is there a downloadable toolkit I should try?

Hey Oley,

I have been doing a bit of research and what I found is that there was a corruption in the Windows Installer database. You can use the "Windows Installer Clean Up Utility" downloaded from Microsoft to remove ALL traces of Office, and then reinstall. This should solve the problem. I found this in another discussion forum with someone else with a very similar issue. I hope this helps!
