NPR Waveform generation

Hi All,

I Need to produce a NPR test waveform purely in software as this waveform will be saved to file and run on a signal generator from memory.  Coming from a digital more than an RF Background i am unsure what process i should take.  For example the uniform white noise generation is in the time domain (I think) and the when i pass it through a bandstop filter and try to display the frequency spectrum i do not get any results.
