Labview 2018 installer gives a C++ runtime error

Dear community,

I am trying to install Labview 2018 on a new Windows 10 PC, but the installer fails.

The download and unpacking goes fine, but when running "setup.exe", all I get is an error message from the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, saying "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way".

See the attached screenshot for the full error message.

I have tried redownloading and -unpacking, but that didn't help.

Am I missing some prerequesite, or might some other installed program trip up the installer?

Since the PC is new, It only has Windows 10, some Dell preinstalled software and a few utillities (like Firefox and Notepad++) installed.

I downloaded Labview 2018 from http://www.ni.com/da-dk/shop/labview/download.html,

The PC runs Windows 10 1803, build 17134.376,

National Instruments have not yet responded to the service request I sent them last week.

Any third party antivirus?

Are there any ongoing other installs that are waiting for a reboot (e.g. windows updates, etc.)?

Just some random ideas ... Sorry.

Is the system fully updated? 

Also you could try the web-base installer: http://www.ni.com/download/web-based-installer-labview-development-system-2018/7496/en/

Those are good ideas, thanks!

There's only Windows Defender, and I've tried rebooting to no avail.

Hm, I thought Windows was up to date, but now some new updates have appeared.

Thank you for the link to the web-based installer. I got the same error from that.

I'll try again after updating Windows, and post then.

And now I've updated, and I still get the same error.

I think I might be missing a C++ runtime library or something?

Unfortunately this did not work for me. I tried it with English (US), English (UK) and German (Germany). Had English (Germany) before. Windows 1809 is installed.
