We just strip off the @ symbol before it gets to the display.

Thanks for the thoughtful response, Matt.
Of the roughly 100 various programming stations we have on the floor, some use PS/2 scanners and others use USB. I believe the plan is to phase out the PS/2 scanners, but until then any solution will obviously have to deal with both styles.
The black box idea is a good one, but cost factor and time implementing would prevent it from being accepted by management.
You know, it's a really good question for why they don't want to use the scanner. Their chief complaint is that the plastic bag that they have to scan through sometime prevents the scanner from working properly. But still, it may only take an extra second or two to flatten out the plastic and get the scan. OR, they could just take the scan page out of the bag and keep it out until a particular order is complete. I honestly don't understand the psychology behind their protest, and I honestly don't care. Short of firing all of them (not going to happen) I have to find an effective way of enforcing the scanner rule.
If I were to use BlockInput, how do I call that from labview?

Matt,
Can I simply go ahead disconnecting the typedef from its .ctl ?
Anyhow it has only one instance in the set of VIs you ve posted.
Great work, indeed! ![]()
