How do I lock out the keyboard?

Yes, the vi  was created with LV 6.1 is broken if opened with 7.1 and (I guess) later versions.
Here is the 7.1 version; if still broken, change the OldVal output terminal to Time.

Paolo,

Seperate thatnk for you for posting the VI in 7.1.

Ya, 6.1 was broken was broken due to the Old Value instead of Time.

I ve re-posted it saved for 7.0. Maybe you can re-save it for 6.1 if somebody asks for an earlier version.

Actually, my first vi was good if opened with LV6.1, or even 7.0. Apparently, the change in the number and type of available data fields for a given event is confusing LV7.1 when importing from a previous version.
To be precise, I developed the vi with 7.1, but after I noticed that ShawnB was using 6.1, I saved it twice for previous versions.
BTW, after one of those savings I got an error because one of the data fields on the left was missing in the target version, but I fixed it by removing the data field.
All clear?Smiley Happy

Thanks for the catch.  It should have referenced the typedef.  I built that off of another VI and forgot to diconnect from the typedef.  The control is also an I32, instead of a U32.  Here is the corrected VI.

In addition to Paolos solution, to get an engineers backdoor:

In the past I used a special barcode (sticker). If the code was scanned the restricted area was enabled (and automaticly disabled after a programmed time!). We used to stick 'our' Barcode onto the back of our company ID card so most of the operators thought the access war granted by HR dep. Smiley Wink
