Do you need someone locally, or will a telecommuter be appropriate? I find it useful to have contractors working on the other side of the world - you can give them a task at 5pm, and the answer's on you desk (ie: in your email inbox!) by 9am the next day...

cheers,
Christopher

I only seek a small input :
I need a small adjustment to an existing LabView programme, (possibly 1 week's work?,) and then I expect other (small) adjustments will be required over the next 12 months, a freelancer seems (to me) to be the best solution, possibly a small enterprise could be interested also?

Are you aware of the Alliance program? They are third-party consultants and system integrators and can be found all over the world. Go here to start your search.

I believe it necessary to meet (to explain the existing vi s etc. also there is hardware driven by the software, I believe physical contact is required) if I fail to locate a local candidate, then Australia is as / more? convenient than anywhere else!

Yes, I am aware (though may be mistaken in my understanding) that alliance members are larger companies, I feel more comfortable with a individual, given the small inputs I envisage being required sporadically over next 12 months, if I could locate an individual close (geographically) to me I feel this my perfect option.

Alliance members come in all shapes and sizes. I know a lot of one person operations. Your local NI sales engineer is another great source of information. He or she might be able to point you to someone.
