Reorder controls in cluster - keep scrollbar enabled

Status: Declined

Any idea that has not received any kudos within a year after posting will be automatically declined.

Keep the front panel scrollbars enabled when reordering contols in a cluster. At the moment the scrollbars are overlayed/disabled when enetering this mode which makes it difficult to reorganise large clusters.

I don't remember the behavior of previous versions of LV but with the recent ones, the scrollbars are enabled during the reordering.

Which version of LV do you use ?

Spoiler
According to your screen captures at least LV 8.20.

JB,

I am using LV2013 SP1 Patch f2 32bit

I didn't realise it should have them enabled. What version of LV are you using?

In LV7.1, they are not darkened, nor disabled.

This changed between 7.1 and 8.2.1. Since then they are enabled, but darkened.

It probably changed in 8.0, but I try very hard to ban every trace evidence of 8.0's existence, so I can't test it.

The darkening is confusing. Perhaps this is a bug?

You are, of course, both right - scrolling is enabled! I got it wrong.

The thing that fooled me was the grey overlay along with the cursor not changing from the reordering cursor when hovering over the scrollbar. Bad design, but the functionality is there.

Matt,

Your image no longer shows up in the idea.  It is now just a red X.  (I saw it earlier today, so I know it did exist and what it looked like.)

Please don't tell me you deleted the image out of your image library.

I tried to update the idea post, but it wouldn't let me. It would be great if the original poster could modify their ideas at any time in the future with a change history. Yes, unfortunately I have to admit I deleted the image from my library after failing to edit my original idea post. Apologises.

If someone can give me permission to edit my idea, I'd be happy to re add/modify the image based on latest findings/my mistake. Thanks

Matt,

Id would be very confusing to read all the replies if the original idea changed. I often want to edit mistakes, but when replies to or kudo's, it's just not possible.

Also it would be a bad idea. One could change a post with much kudo's, and chnge the idea to a bad one. The kudo's would now appear to apply to the bad idea.
