Historical Trend Viewer - Preview

Status: Declined

With the Historical Trend Viewer you can display time-related data. When searching for an event with a sampling rate of 1 kHz it can be very difficult and time expensive to find spikes when the time range is unknown. For a speed-up of the error diagnostics a preview of the data (interpolation of e.g. one day) will help to reduce time. The XGrapher (UI Contest Winner) is a nice example for an implementation. The selected time range from the preview is loaded into the non-filtered area.

For viewing a large amount of data it, it is necessary to have a build in functionality of an envelope curve or decimated data view in the HTV.

I think you can use "Zoom in" functionality in HDV to have the decimated data view of a long time range, and select the fragment you're interested in to view by the mouse. Does this method work for you?

YanYuan,

yes, the zoom functionality is known, but the problem is the amount of data which is loaded - when viewing data of one day with 1kHz the needed time is very long - otherwhise when using the zoom in functionality it is very difficult to find the spikes with the events. Therefore a preview with reduced (interpolated) would be very helpful.
