Adam 5000/485 Drivers Required

I have tried to find drivers for the Advantech Adam 5000/485 serial device.

I know that I could send ascii code using Visa but just want to save some time if someone has already done it.

Hi Andy Try Hard,

I have looked around and found these links:

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&requireLogin=False&thread.id=154483

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=233448&requireLogin=False

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=190&message.id=12&requireLogin=False

It seems as though there are no specific drivers. It may be worth contacting Advantech to see if they have any available.

Kind Regards,

HI,

Did you manage to find any drivers for the adam-5000-485 for labview? i am starting to use this software and i am unsure as to how to get the adam hardware to speak to labview. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't find any drivers for the Adams 500/485 so i created my own that just do want I wanted and are not very well documented and not comprehensive.

If you are interested I will look them out and post them.

Going through my old stuff I found that I only did vi's for digital i/o.

I am sure that it will give you a chance to see how they work and write your own vi's

good luck

No sorry I don't know how to do that. however I am sure that all of the functions are available in Labview 8 and you should be able to copy what I have done.

Here is an 8.0 version

If you are gonna use these vi's make sure that the open and close section only are used in the beginning and ennd of your program.

So the first thing to do is to split read or write in 3 parts and from the other one only take the middle part.

good luck
