We have lost JR Allen!

For those of you who do not know JR Allen you may know his work!

JR Allen was our advocate inside NI who fought for our causes. He was a big element in the conversion of the Developer Exchange to its current form.

He was the person that got the LV Zone going.

He set up the LV challenges.

He put together the "Code-off" that occured at NI week this year.

He also set-up the LV Community booth for our use at NI Week.

Well he has decided that he needs to move on.

I pray that the God smiles on you and your family JR.

Thank you for all you have done! We will miss you!

Ben

Well, I don't know JR, but any person with the "LV product manager" title sounds like someone to be appreciated. You should also note that he is high up on the enthusiats list, with almost 800 posts.

Thank you for the things I know you did, but mostly (probably) thank you for the things I don't know you did.

And good luck...

As I have said to JR in a separate email, please make sure to create a user account, where ever you end up, and drop in on us here occasionally. While I only met you in person very recently, I will miss your input and your behind the scenes work.

Thanks Again JR and best of luck to you and your family!

Thank you all for the kind words. I've really enjoyed my time at NI and getting to work (and hang out from time to time) with many of you. The Forums have really developed into a great community and it's fun to be a part of that. I'll definitely keep my Forums login and keep dropping by to see how everyone is doing. Best of luck to everyone.

This thread sounds like you will uninstall LV forever. Surely you will be using it in your future career..? If not..I don't understand..is it possible? <puzzled "smiley" here>
Anyways; best of luck.

Well, the only good new here is that you will turn from blue to gold in the E-List, enforcing the non-NI enthusiast group ! 🙂

Not sure that this will compensate the loss...

I wish you all the best for the time and life to come.

Bon Vent, JRA !

Whoa man! That was scary! At first I thought something very bad happened to JRA!

Moving on... that's a good thing! I wish you success in your new endeavors. And, rest assured: once a LabVIEWer, always a LabVIEWer.

As a continuing part in the saga of "who shot JR?" (:P), I saw this post and said to myself "wait a minute... This doesn't seem right". It took me a visit to this thread to recognize the difference in the user names. There should be a law against things like this. Smiley Very Happy

I actually worked with them both in the Applications Engineering group a few years back.  Yes, they both were in AE at the same time and both go by "JR" and both their last names start with A.  Smiley Happy

I guess we should come up with more creative forum names (note "Jeff B").  Hehe.
