Hi:

My name is Roberto, alias Robst, and I'm a newcomer to these forums. I've know of them for a while but for some or other reason I didn´t join before. But now I'm here to learn a lot from you guys!!, I've seen that you all are very good at LV, so I'm glad to have the chance to talk with you. And of course, I'm here also to help other if I can. Nice to meet you all.

Best regards!

Welcome to the group Robst.  You will learn a lot from this forum.  I never stop learning.  Just remember that we are all volunteers taking our own time to help others.  If you find some useful information, rate the giver with stars.  See the rating selector at the bottom right of every post.

Hi all:

Thanks for the welcome, be sure I´ll do my best here at the forums. And about the stars, don't worry, giving five stars to a helpful message is a good deal! Smiley Wink I've already done that. I expect the same if my postings can help others.

Best regards to all!

Hi Robst:

Welcome to the forums!  It's a nice little community and probably the most well-behaved one I've been involved in.  There's lots of help here and lot's of questions to contribute to.

Just fine. The first layout is getting a power supply upgrade and we have started to plan a second that models the Library branch of the Montour RR. The coal it hauled durring the second world war fired the mills of Pittsburgh. The original full scale version has been stripped of the mine and rails and has been over-grown, but what remains is easily viewed outside my front window.

Ben, have you ever played "Railroad Tycoon" or are you only interested in the actual train models? The game demands that you develop a railroad system in the 19th century in various settings, including the north-east US, but it's basically just a business-strategy game - decide where to go with your system, decide which materials each train will take and so on. Since it's an old game, it's possible you could even find it as abandonware on the internet.

I heard of the game when one of my budies bought it for his father-in-law.

The "actual train models" still blow away anything that can be done using a 2-d display. Being able to put your head within inches of the track as a train rolls by makes you feel like you are standing next to the tracks. The only thing missing is the wind and the ground shaking!
