NI Week sign-in

Hi fellow LabVIEW users!

NI Week is less than a month away and scattered posts here sometimes give hints on who will (or will not) be attending.

Some here might be interested to see who else will be there. This thread is intended as place to tell if you are coming.

(Of course this is completely voluntary and if you want to attend incognito, that's fine too. :D)

We will probably meet in the LabVIEW zone. I will be recognizable, because my forum name is the same as my last name.

See you all there!

I will be there the entire conference.

I will also attend the Academic Forum on Monday.

I'll be there again this year. Really looking forward to it. In 2008 I learned a lot, met some great people, and had a great time. (Even though I practically melted in the heat) Hopefully things will be at least a little cooler this year. Although it's Texas in August....one thing it won't be is too cold.

Well, the outside heat and inside cold average out to a pleasant temperature, because the inside is ACd to about 65F (too cold for my taste).

Of course the heat management of such a large building is not trivial. For example they pre-chill the keynote room in the early morning as a preemptive strike against the upcoming heat load of a couple thousand 98F radiators in the form of attendees. 😄 Still, you would think that some fancy NI equipment and LabVIEW code could do a better job. Imagine a wide-angle IR camera that would pinpoint the average temperature for each sqft and regulate all vents accordingly. 😉

Don't forget to bring a warm sweater for the meetings! 😮

I remember people talking about the air conditioning in 2008 as well. Some didn't consider it very "green" to have the rooms so chilly. Maybe it's just that thick Canadian blood, but I rather appreciated the cool temperatures inside the convention centre. I've been in a few crowded presentations and none were ever as comfortable as those. I know not everyone likes the cold, and I am sympathetic. But you won't hear any complaints about me being cold. ....Now if I can't find a decent beer or a cup of coffee that's a different story.

Personally, I didn't have a problem with the temperature either inside or outside the convention center.

Oh, and at the moment it looks like I'll be coming as well. Looks like quite a turn-up. We're just missing Ben.

Well I am sorry to miss a chance to meet Y'all.

The trip to NI week would only be for social reasons, and in the current economic conditions, customer visits will have to over-ride.

By each other a cold one and say something politically incorrect to make up for my absences. Smiley Wink

I'll be there Tues-Thurs, and there's a slight possibility of getting there in time for the Monday night mixer.
