You already asked about Arizona and got an answer.

I will say this:

  1. There is no lying\misdirection. I may not comment on wrong suggestion and I may use confusing data, but everything is real.
  2. As a subset of that, the only manipulation done to that image is the (quick) stitching of 2 images together. This can be clearly be seen on the tree to the left and top of the big tree in the center.
  3. As Charly said, there are clues in other places as well.

  • The blue sky and the vegetation suggest Southern California coast.
  • Is that an Avocado tree all the way to the right?
  • The sun seems to come from the upper left, meaning we are looking west towards the ocean. This explains the absence of mountains.
  • Is that small blue patch in the trees the ocean or some tarp?
  • The tile roofs suggest fire danger zone. (Or a local ordinance, e.g. Palos Verdes Estates(?))
  • Large lot and low building density means eaither cheap land values or higher-end neighborhood. Absence of utility wires suggest the latter.
  • Best guess: San Diego, Orange County coast, possibly Santa Barbara or similar.
  • Ski areas would be e.g. Big Bear, etc.

I will not add additional data, but I will make one "correction", since Alten made a valid point - this is what I see when I look out my bedroom window in the morning, but that picture was not necessarily taken in the morning.

Not in the O.C. (although I do like Arrested Development a lot. Less than two weeks until the third season starts). Nor S.D. or S.B.

One problem with my suggestion was that the coast here almost never gets to 110F. You would need to go more inland, but then it is less lush (or all irrigated). One of the few places here with regular 110F in summer is Palm Springs, so maybe that blue patch is not the ocean. Still, the vegetation does not match and we should see some mountains irrespective of direction unless it's very dusty.

Could it be near Camarillo?

Do we even know this is the US? The building styles, street lights, AC units all look a bit foregn. The architecture is a bit odd, the relatively steep roofs hint at a more rainy area, but "110F + humidity" would be unbearable.

Yes, I too assummed the US mainly due to the timeframe of tst posts, but then (s)he could be a night owl. I will resign my guesses for now, but I am fairly certain tst resides on Earth. But then again with the recent avatars of Riker and Mighty Mouse.....

Why do people assume that tst is from the US.

I have friends from Lebanon who live at +25 / +30 C, near the sea and can go skiing 2 hours away..

But tst mentioned 110F... Deg F....  USA definitely uses deg F.  😐

CC... I will loose pace some more..  I've been abusing Internet access at work by visiting this forum..  😞

Oh well... there is always the evening..

May be I missed something, but tst never said that the sky resort distance was 2 hours by car...

Remember, this thing is always trying to fool us !

Finally, it's starting to work.

The point originally was just to add some nice scenery to the mix and ask other people to do the same (this request it still valid). Since you insist, however, the point now is to help people try to examine their assumptions and preconceptions and to keep all options in mind, and you can see it's happening somewhat. Plus, it's fun.

Alten's suggestions are incorrect.

OK this is going to be a really long shot but, judging by the posting times of tst, I guess (s)he is somewhere near the coast of the Mediterranean? (That's in Europe, for those of you who are not certain.)

I was going to post a picture of my own but I guess my icon gives my location away just a tad.
