Great idea. How about a quick-drop keyboard operation to replace the selected block diagram object? It seems that if you're using quickdrop, you're allready in the keyboard mode of operation.
In addition, I would like yet another entry in the "replace" menu:
"Vis in memory >"
I might create a new VI to test an alternative algorithm. Once I am satisfied, I would like to replace the old algorthm VI with the new one in the toplevel VI. Seems silly to go to "replace...all palettes...select a VI...browse around" if all I really want is "replace...vis in memory...(and pick the VI that is already open)".
Great idea. (Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.) How about allowing the user to Quick Drop or Super Quick Drop a VI or function direclty onto another VI or function to perform the replacement (without any previous actions). As I mentioned in my duplicate, I think there is room for all of these to work in concert.
I would argue that this is not really completed as described. Though Quick Drop now has Replace functionality, I think it would be cool to access Quick Drop from the Right-click menu anytime that I have the option to navigate the palettes from the menu.
