Private Message Widget

I always find it a little bit weird that my Private Message Widget shows up when I am looking at a different user profile page.

Same here. I keep thinking "Why is Darin rading my messages?" and then the coffee starts working.

I agree it is confusing and anti-intuitive. PMs should only show on your own profile page.

Do you use the private message widget? Or just use the little envelope icon up in the right corner? (Note to self: still need to find bigger icon)

I could just disable the widget from profile pages altogether.

I agree. I could be on the site all morning and never notice that I have a message until I see the e-mail notification elsewhere.

Personally I would not miss the widget.  Probably need to ask those who get more PMs.

If you have a new private message, you will now see a bigger, white envelope and larger text notifying you of the number of unread messages.

If you do not have any unread messages, you will continue to see the default small gray envelope.

Now that I have seen the new icon, feel free to disable the PM widget any time you see fit.  I would prefer it to only show on my own page, but if it is all or nothing I prefer nothing.
