I think he finally figured out the monstrous syntax of regular expressions.

Regular expressions are easy.  Irregular expressions, however.... :twitch

What we need is a fully graphical implementation of regular expressions. No characters allowed! 😄

No, not regualr expressions. I figured out something that makes even less sense than those. I just looked at my VI revision history. It is up near 500. You can imagine how good it must have felt to see it come alive after that many saves.
