"The specified item is not a channel"

Solved!

I am getting the error message pictured below when trying to deploy my project to a real-time target. I have gotten this error message in the past when I had an alias assigned to a channel that no longer existed, and in that case the channel field for the alias was blank. I went through all my alias', calculated channels, and everything I could think of but I cannot determine what this error message is referring to. Does anyone have any hints?

As a suggestion, perhaps in future releases it could give the type and/or name of the item in question.

Hey pkruse,

This error can also occur if the controller is in safe mode - which would prevent Veristand from deploying to it. Are you able to deploy one of the example projects or is this issue specific to your project?

Kevin, this is not the case. I can deploy a stripped down project.

Hey pkruse,

From looking at the error message it seems like the error may be getting generated from one of the custom devices in your system definition. Do you have custom devices? Can you isolate it to a specific device causing this issue - is there one that if you don't include it you can deploy the system definition?
