NI does not want to give you too much guidance, because we want you to have creative control!! We LVE that each student design post is as unique as the projects they describe. However, here are some quick-fire writing tips:

  • TIP #1. Photos/illustrations are vital. Videos demonstrations are optional, but very effective. Please use high-res, print-ready images if possible - this makes it easier for magazines to publish your work
  • TIP #2. Provide context. Explain the problem that you were trying to solve, rather than jumping straight to the solution you built. Make the reader care about your project, by helping them understand the project's significance
  • TIP #3. Put your application at the forefront of your entry, but please tell us how you used NI tech, and how it benefited you & your project
  • TIP #4. Focus on the stuff that went well. Also, please use language that is understandable by a broad engineering audience (avoid fancy acronyms and application-specific terminology)
  • TIP #5. Be clear about what makes your project special/unique/innovative? How could you project positively impact industry, society or the environment? How could the project be further developed in the future?

Oh! Let's finish on the most important and useful tip of them all...
