Can one use a Compact PCI processor module as the system controller in the system controller slot of a NI PXI chassis?

I would like to know if a Compact PCI processor module can work as the system controller in the system controller slot of the NI PXI chassis (PXI-1042). If successful, I will then attempt to service PCI interrupts via the cPCI processor. Eventaully I will move to a larger chassis (14 or 18 slots) to see if I can service interrupts over the PCI to PCI bridge. Thanks

Compact PCI is just a different form factor that PCI.  Take a look at this Knowledgebase article. Basically you lose triggering and clock lines that PXI also you access to. Let me know if you have any questions.
