I understand you are using LabVIEW 7.0, but what version of NI TestStand are you using.

Upgrading NI-DAQmx will not affect serial or USB communication.  Those are supported by our NI-VISA and NI-Serial drivers.

Thanks for the clarification.

The memory leak could be occuring for any number of reasons.  It is strange that of three identical test systems running the same VI only one is experiencing the leak.  I would like you to look over the following Developer's Zone article and KB on possible reasons you might be leaking memory.  I also recommend looking through your code to see if anything stands out as a possible cause (arrays growing in a loop, etc).

How large is your VI?  Could you post a screenshot of your code?

FINALLLY!!!!!!!!!!!! i found the problem..

in all my systems, the only system that don't have the pxi-4060 cards is the system with the memory leak.

my co-worker said that because we are not using a thermistor in this system, so therefore we don't have to have the PXI-4060 in the chassis pxi-1042. I guess what was causing the leak was data being poured into the array where the data of the thermistor is holding and it takes up memory. I replaced the chassis with the pxi-4060 in with the other chassis and there are no leak in memory..i guess that did the job..

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!!! especially BlacQmx. i think without advices from the experts, i would never discover it.

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!!!
