I am interested in analyzing an microphone input signal in Labview. I have read that you can use a DAQ board to do this.
I am wondering if it is possible to put the signal directly into labview (without using a DAQ board); by just using the 2.5mm jack on the computer, can you get a voltage that can then be fed into Labview for analyzation.
Thank you

Hmm.. It looks pretty simple, but when I try the NI examples or the express VI, I get an error (Hex 0x12CB) Cannot support sound format. The device does match the microphone on my computer, so any ideas on what the problem could be?
Thank you

No. There is only 1 soundcard. The VI does allow you to select the device that you want when you set it up, but device 0 (default) does match the appropriate system for my computer.
Thank you
