Application question

I am looking for a way to monitor several voltage analog inputs of various types with one I/O card and PC, and have the ability to switch relays based on alert/alarm levels.  I am not familiar with LabVIEW, so would like to know if it has this capability before I delve into it.  I am thinking of using a basic 8 or 16 analog input AT or PCI card.  What module would be needed to activate the relays?  I am quite new to NI, and would be grateful for any help.
