Hello Jos,
I did some searching on this issue but could not come up with something right away. I have to check if this is possible and get back to you if you can lock it and how.

Hello Bruce,
Nice idea. And it will work fine if I take the liberty to overrule all other users.
However I am only preparing the system so that it becomes - more - easy to use for all other legitimate users. And they also are allowed to change the contents of the iid-file if needed. So this particular solution will work if I make a step-by-step procedure for those users with the location of the master file and how to change it. But you probably also know that nobody reads procedures. Worth while to try the idea and it will work, but .... ....
I prefer a solution where people have to save the iid-file knowingly. And with/without a warning popup if they try something irregulars. Or file locking (ReadOnly) and a warning when they try to save the file without unlocking. Or even the possibility to fix (another) iid-file as default in Measurement&Automation so the possibility for change in the non-default iid-files becomes smaller.
Thanks anyway !
