inspection interface version problem

Solved!
Go to solution

Trying to configure insp. interface via "create new custom interface from:"

Running VBAI 2009 and LabVIEW 2009. Edited example custom interface to add numeric inputs.

Saved as LV/2009 I get error msg: "This step only supports LabVIEW 8.5 VIs."

Tried save for previous version (8.5) and I get "There is no VI at the path you specified."

I am new, but had local support here Friday - he left looking for answers (not a vision guy, and I'm not a LV guy).

Thought I'd throw it out here, too.

Any help?  Thanks! - Mike

Vision Builder AI 2009 SP1 should release in the next few weeks and it will fix this problem. In the upcoming release it will allow you to use VIs that were saved for Previous from a newer version of LV. When you save for previous it creates a VI that is compatible with LV 8.5, but it has not been compiled in LV 8.5 yet. Vision Builder AI 2009 SP1 will now compile VIs for you (if choose to have Vision Builder AI fix the problem for you), which means it will support older VIs, VIs saved for other OSes and not compiled for the correct OS (i.e. if using a smart camera, you won't need to compile the VI for VxWorks anymore), and VIs saved for previous. This applies to the Custom UI step and the Run LabVIEW VI step.
