Good day. I'm a student from Shenyang Institute of  Chemical Technology. Currently, i'm doing a study on red blood cell count. In order to count the total number of cell, I use NI Vision develop module to process the impage,First I use sobel filter to  extract  the outer  contour of the blood cell, then I use threshold to select the cell ,after that I find a lot of  cell are connected with eacher other so tightly, I have use separate function to deal with the impage but it no use, I hope somebody can give me a good idea, Thanks very much.

Hi ANLI!

Could you upload a couple of sample images for us to look at? It would be best to get the "raw" and unprocessed images directly from the camera.
If I understand you correctly, you are trying to count the number of red blood cells, but you have problems with separating them, correct?

Have you tried using a distance transform or Danielson algorithm?
Or, are you using blob analysis with an erosion function?

I am trying to understand your problem better. Maybe it would also be good, if you could describe how you are attempting to do the segmentation of the image.
