Hello everyone,
i failed to use an USB camera by Company VRmagic. I've intalled the "NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras" here: http://sine.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5030 But still doesn't work.
Error 1074396024 happens in LabVIEW. And error 1074396023 and 1074396026 happen in Vision Assistant. Could anyone help me? Thanks!
LabVIEW Student Edition 8.6 (Vision Assistant 8.6), Windows XP

Hi Antonia (and Jing
),
the first thing you need to make sure is that your camera is direct show compliant. If it's not then you will not be able to communicate to your cam.
Next thing is make sure that the camera driver from VRmagic is properly installed and the cam is accessible in the Windows control panel.
If you have any VRmagic software to test the camera then make sure it is working.
I have seen cases where only installing the manufacturer's driver first and then installing IMAQ for USB made it work while vice-versa it failed.
Last thing to check is: How do you communicate to your cam through LabVIEW? I would try the examples in the
C:\Programme\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\examples\IMAQ\imaqUSB examples.LLB.
I need to add that the IMAQ for USB driver is not officially supported and there is no more development happening for that driver.
Nevertheless I will try my best to assist you in getting your cam to work with IMAQ for USB. Still we cannot guarantee that it will.
Best regards,
David

Thanks David,
i've tried all. The camera works rather normally except in LabVIEW. Maybe IMAQ for USB doesn't support the VRmagic cameras. What a pity. But thank u all the same!

Thank god! Somebody with the same problem as me!
I too got a VRMagic, and ist is NOT working with LabView...
Don't ask me why, I'm clueless especially since I'm quite new to LabView.
I tried Imaq, Visa, some program from VRMagic, NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras.
Labview Version is 8.5.1.
If anybody manages to get one working with Labview, PLEASE let me know.
I'm really running out of ideas here....
Since I suppose both help-seeking people in here speak German and English, feel free to use, whichever you like best.
But Help would be really great.
Thanks!
So long, greets, Rebecca

Hi, Antonia and Rebecca,
As far as I can see, this camera delivered with own SDK:
http://www.vrmagic.com/downloads/imageprocessing/software/vrmusbcam.pdf
So, may be it will work with IMAQ USB (seems to be directshow compliant), but may be you will get troubles.
I will recommend to use SDK instead of IMAQ USB in your case. Pretty much work, but you will get better results with full camera control.
Andrey.
