I'm using the 'White Balancing Utility.exe' program that comes with the PCI-1405 analog frame grabber card to see an image. Is there any way to rotate the image 90 degrees to the left or right?

Hi Ken!
There is not a way to rotate an image within the White Balancing Utility.exe. However there is a VI called IMAQ Rotate, that you can use to rotate your image within LabVIEW. You specify the angle in degrees to whatever angle you desire, such as 90. I hope this helps!

Kristen, I don't have NI Vision and the vi apps I found on the net require subVI 'Imaq Rotate' from NI Vision. All I have is Labview full developers version 8.5 and the PCI-1405 card. I can't find the file IMAQ Rotate.vi anywhere on the web. Any other suggestions?

Hi Ken
Have you installed Vision Acquisition Software on your computer? You can download this and install it without purchasing any additional licenses (these are only used to unlock the use of the imaqdx drivers). You will need to have a later version of Vision then LV as well.

Hi Ken,
Eric poses a good question. You can verify you installation of Vision Acquisition a number of ways: 1) Measurement & Automation Explorer under Software 2) the VIs should appear in the Vision and Motion palette 3) NI Vision Acquisition will appear in NI License Manager 4) Add/Remove Programs >> National Instruments Software >> change/remove >> the window that pops up will list IMAQ. Once Vision Acquisition is installed you should be able to find the Rotate VI okay.
Note: Vision Acquisition is free to download; however, for those that read this post and are using FireWire cameras with IMAQdx, there is a 30-day free trial of IMAQdx. After 30-days, IMAQdx requires activation, which you can purchase here or by calling (888) 280-7645. IMAQ and IMAQ I/O are free with the purchase of hardware.
To clarify Eric's statement about versions: the version of Vision Acquisition must be equal to or later than the version of LabVIEW you are using. For example, if you are using LabVIEW 8.5, you will need Vision Acquisition 8.5, 8.6, or later.
I hope this helps!

Hi, I downloaded NI Vision Acquisition and 'IMAQ Rotate' is still not there when I run a VI that uses it. Under Add/Remove Programs NI shows i have all kinds of IMAQ programs, NI-IMAQ, NI-IMAQdx, etc.

It works now. I had to download Vision developers module 8.6 and use in evaluation mode. Thanks.
