USB camera Visual Assistant

Hey,

I'm working with NI Vision 7.1 and Vision Assistant. Normally I work with FireWire cameras with no problems, but recently I installed NI-IMAQ for USB driver and tried to get some images through the Vision Assistant. Unfortunately it does not work. I can see in my Vision Assistant the option "Acquire Image(USB)" but it is disabled.
I also can't see my USB camera with MAX.
I know that the camera is right installed because when I run some Labview examples from the manufacturer I get an image, but not through the Visual Assistant.
Any idea?

Thanks,
Silvi

Hi Silvia,
if the USB acquisition button is greyed out although you have connected a USB camera it could be a problem of the DirectShow option of the camera.
If your USB camera does not support DirectShow it is not possible to acquire an image within the vision assistant/vision builder.

You wrote that you tried to run some examples of the manufacturer. Are you sure that this examples use the NI IMAQ USB driver and not a 3rd party DLL?

Hi ThSa,

Thank you very much for the answer.
I will have a look to check if the manufacturer say something about.
