Hi Bestbier,
We are still looking into it. I do have one quick question for you: Do you have Measurement Studio installed? You didn't mention it before, so I assume not but I thought I would double check. I am going to try to reproduce your issue on a fresh Windows image.

Hi Kristen
I don't own Measurement Studio. I only have the Vision Development Module.
Do I need to get Measurement Studio? If so which version?
I would think that for controlling a function on a vision acquisition board that is included in IMAQ would be possible without extra libraries.
Best regards,
Bestbier

Hi bestbier!
I am not sure if you will need Measurement Studio yet. Do you have SP2 for Windows XP? I just want to make sure my system is the same as yours! Thanks!

Hi bestbier,
I recreated your system using a virtual machine. Unfortunately, I was unable to recreate the issue. The "Add" button worked just fine. Did you run the reinstall of the IMAQ driver from a disk or downloaded from ni.com? At the moment, the only thing I can think might be the issue is a corrupt driver. Could you try downloading and installing the driver from ni.com (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1099/lang/en) ?

Hi, Kristen,
Can you please explain (just for me) - how you are able to communicate with PCI Device (IMAQ Camera Link framegrabber in our case) from Virtual Machine?!
Or in another words, which Virtual Machine are you using for such test? From VMware its impossible as far as I know.
Looking for your feedback,
Andrey.

Hi Kristen
Just want to check some stuff. Have you setup the 1427 in MAX? Is it the "Add" button in the "Pulses" block that works? My "Add" button in the "Signals" windows works and the one in the "Pulses" blockid greyed out when I have the card installed, but does work when I don't have the card installed.
I have been using my 8.6 CD.
I am currently installing this system and will try this on a new PC tomorrow or Wednesday.
Best regards,

Andrey-
I was actually not communicating with a PCI device. I was testing the software combination. Sorry about the confusion. As far as I know, you are correct about not being able to communicate with PCI devices from a virtual machine.
bestbier-
I did not realize that this issue presented only when the board was installed. Thank you for clarifying and double checking on that. I am told that this issue is still under discussion in R&D. I will post when I hear something!
