The "expression" dispay's transparent background overwrites graphics they lie beneath.

When expressions with transparent backgrounds and no frames are arranged behind (moved to back) .wmf graphic files, the expressions "transparent" background keeps popping up on top of the graphic when the expression updates.  The overwitten area extends to the same size as the "transparent" background box, no matter what size the actual text/digital display is.

Makes lots of readings displayed on a map look quite bad especially when a larger box is needed to display a large range of readings (1 to 4 digits for example.  I have no problem with the actual display text overwriting the graphic as that behavior would be expected.

Please fix...."transparent" should really be transparent.

Hypertrend improvement:

Make the StartTime member read and write, and/or expose the button bar date/time display member somehow so we can programatically manipulate Hypertrend displays.  I'm trying to reproduce the button bar date/time behavior on a touch screen that requires "big finger" controls and It is quite complicated to match the performance of the built in button bar date/time functionality without being able to read the "current" StartTime when a Hypertrend is already stopped.

Pot Object Improvements:

1. Add dynamic fields for Minimum, Maximum and Resolution.

3. Add cycle through feature (check box?) to allow reaching maximum and incrementing through to the minimum.

Let me preface this by saying that I work with version 5.1, so these things may have been addressed in later versions.

In Object Explorer
Allow copy and paste from one process to another.
Allow copy and paste of folders containing objects.
Allow multiple selection of objects to drag or copy and paste.
Allow copying and pasting of panels.

Connection Browser
Make this easier to navigate.  It's not alphabetical.  For some reason my mouse's scroll wheel doesn't work in this window and it's annoying...

Hypertrend
This might be alot to ask, but it would be really cool if the hypertrend acted more like Google's stock trend does with scroll wheel zoom and click and drag movement.  Check it out here: http://finance.google.com/finance?client=ob&q=GOOG

It would be neat if I could have tooltips on controls in Lookout.  I simulated tooltips by generating a bargraph with a maximum of 1 connected to an expression that generated a logical 1 on a mouseover of a certain area accompanied by an expression that showed info based on the mouseover in the bar graph location.  This looked nice, but it was a little cumbersome and changing the resolution screwed things up when I moved stuff around.  I had to reassign the xy coordinates all over.

It would be nice to have a top align option for the text inside of text plates so that you can have a text display like the body of an email would be (just an example). 

I'd like to see a simple way of appending text to a text entry object.

It would be nice if the More Windows listbox was alphebatized.

An export to xls option would be cool for connections.  It's available for datamembers, but not to assign connections.  That could be handy.

Excel file import handling within Lookout needs updating!  Office 2007 does NOT support saving in Excel 4.0 format as quoted below. 

Excel 4.0 Workbook

.xlw

An Excel 4.0 file format that saves only worksheets, chart sheets, and macro sheets. You can open a workbook in this file format in Office Excel 2007, but you cannot save an Excel file to this file format.

Please fix ASAP.  This has not been updated in over 13 years....It is long overdue.

DataTable object enhancement:

Data Table import/export (from/to spreadsheet) feature should allow text values.  In industry, text such as comments, sample label, sample type, alarm status are examples of possible customer needs for table cell values (text).

can we have some new PLC drivers as nearly all the ones included with lookout are for PLC's that are no longer manufactured. even if they are for the major main brands eg omron,allen Bradley etc, I don't think any new PLC drivers have been added for over 5 years.

Can we have some basic drawing tools eg circle, oval, arc and line. I currently use the text object to get a square, but any thing else is not possible without using a bitmap file.

I only need base-10 log scales and I need up to 12 decades but would be happy with 5 decades for most applications (especially circular gauges).

Logrithmic scales and grids would be awesome for gauges and hypertrends, especially if they could be dynamic as the linear scales are now.
