ENET-9472 installation problem

Solved!
Go to solution

During my first installation attempt of connecting NI ENET-9472 to NI-DAQmx (whose installation was uneventful), there was an impasse:

In step 6 of Device Configuration (p.8), the instructions say to enter the host name under General Network Settings. This field is not accessable - I can not type in this blank field so I can not finish the configuration; left/right clicks do not open the field. Both Self-Test, Reconnect and Reset Device work. The icon shows ENET-9472 as connected. Everything was new, out of the box, and all instructions proceeded error-free until this point.

Hi steve comee,

I wasn't able to find the exact document you were using but you could try this one.  Good luck, I hope this helps!

The Document was 323489b-01 (Sep08), Getting Started Guide NI-DAQmx for the NI WLS/ENET-9163, that came in the box.

The Test Panels work, but the General Network Settings panel is grayed out and the Hostname field is blank.

Hi steve comee,

Would you be able to post some screenshots of the point where you be come stuck during setup?  That would help me understand what is happening.

Thanks,

Dustin D

If you click the Reconnect button at the top of the screen are you able to change the settings?
