Hi,

This is a very strange error, we don't have any reports on this error happening; however there is some advice that I can give you:

1.- Get the lattest service pack for your OS; this may update the msi engine in you OS. Since the Distribution kits are created used Microsoft's msi technology, updating the msi engine can change the behaviour on the msi installer creation.

2.- Make sure that you have administrative privileges and full write access to the folders that you are using to read and write from.

3.- From the error looks like an msi file is created, so you can use Microsoft's Orca free software to analyze the content of the resuting msi and see what errors are reported.

4.- Reinstall CVI and ultimatelly reinstall the OS; I know this is extrem
e, but msi technology is dependant on the OS and CVI. Since the problem is specific to that machine, it may be just faster to reinstall.

I hope this tips help you; let me know how this goes.

Hello,

This is the first time we have seen this error. The only way we can come up with how this is happening is that there is something strange about your Temp directory.

1) Can you make sure you have a TEMP or TMP environment variable set (and try CDing to it from the command line, like "cd %temp%")
2) Does the variable point to a valid directory that exists (and is not a subst, network, or CD-R drive). 3) Is the temp location pointed to writable and doesn't contain a large number of other temp files

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. All I had to do is to change the Variable of TEMP and TMP in the Environment to "C:\Temp",
instead ".\USERPROFILE%\LocalSettings\Temp".

Thanks again, Alon.

Hi hhhhhhhhh,

I believe Alon is referring to the Windows User and System environment variables. You can modify these variables via the command prompt, or through the environment variables dialog.

To access this dialog, right click on My Computer and select Properties. In the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.

I got the error 26026 while making an application via application builder (LabView 7.1, Applicationbuilder 7.1, WinXP Prof. auf Acer Travelmate Notebook).

The complete error description is: Fehler 26026 ist bei Build Application.vi >> Dist Call Create Installer.vi >> Win Install Create.vi >> MSI DK Set Properties.vi
 aufgetreten. Mögliche Gründe: NMDK_SP_BAD_DIRECTORY_PATH

I changed the %Temp% variable to c:\Temp, but the error ist still the same.

Are there some other advices for help?

Thanks for help!
