I want to insert a boolean status control that stops a while loop when an error occurs.  I am using LabVIEW 8.5 and have search but can't find what I am looking for.

Just wire the error cluster to the loop termination terminal (See image).

 

Or you could just unbundle the error status from the error cluster to get the boolean.
