why does the metrics datasize property node not work

The documentation says this property is available on a read-only basis in the runtime engine. What am I doing wrong?

It works with the other VI that is not running. I tried the property node with the same vi in both the conditions. when the refernce vi was running it was giving me the error and it gave me the value when it is not running.

Thanks for your answer, I did wonder if that was the reason.

NI could do with amending the documentation to reflect this.
