thread concept

Can someone explain what does it mean when someone asks you "How many threads does your program use? " . I am not sure how to answer this question. I have not read that deep into threads in processors. I thought that was something the processor decides. When LabVIEW is running, in taskmgr, I just see a LabVIEW.exe prgram running in the processes list. Does that mean LabVIEW just uses 1 thread? I am confused or rather in oblivion. My program has parallel loops exchanging information. Does that mean there are multiple threads or are threads something that YOU create?

Simple explaination to start with will be useful and I will be grateful. Thanks!

How Many Threads Does LabVIEW Allocate?

(It was written for LabVIEW 7.1, but it's probably a good estimate for modern versions too ;))
