runtime error when adding a softmotion axis

Solved!

Hi Mychal,

That's great that we're on the same page. I had seen the post about adding the trajectory generator functions to the 2011 palette, but when trying this I couldn't get the example code to open (It said I needed to install the softMotion module, though it was already installed). Is there any way I can get 2011 to open these examples in the labVIEW example finder?

Many thanks,

Matt

Hi Mychal,

Thanks for all of your help. I have reinstalled labVIEW 2011 and softMotion 2011, while copying the 2010 examples to another directory. All examples now work, I can add softMotion axes, coordinate spaces and tables to my projects and I still have access to the trajectory generator. Thanks again for all the help.

Cheers!

Matt

Hi Mychal --

I'm also running into this issue on the same software versions mentioned before. I am running LabVIEW 2010 SP1 and I'm evaluating SoftMotion 2010 SP1 but I cannot upgrade LabVIEW for compatibility reasons. Have the software engineers found a workaround or patch to fix this run-time problem?

Thanks.

Hi Richard,

I looked up the CAR filed for this issue, 336637, and it seems it was fixed in SoftMotion 2012.  Unfortunately there seem to be no work-arounds that involve keeping LabVIEW 2010, so I am afraid that if we cannot upgrade, we might be a little out of luck with this issue.

Also, the forum post you have resurrected is over two years old.  In the future, feel free to make a new post about this that references this thread instead of replying to such an old post.
